Long Covid Superheroes

Long Covid Superheroes is a drama and comics project for young people with Long Covid, directed by Alchemise Theatre, in partnership with Long Covid Kids.  The project aims to raise awareness of Long Covid among a wider audience through a year-long programme of workshops. 

For this project, I created a comic and illustrations, designed the poster and flyer, and was responsible for the editorial design and cover design of the final publication.

This 16-page comic is based on the lived experiences of young people with Long Covid who participated in the project. Through the language of video games, it transforms the everyday realities of Long Covid into an gamified adventure, celebrating the resilience of these young heroes and the creativity, humour, and optimism with which they navigate each day.

The book chronicles the project’s full journey, bringing together the original story, character development, two comics, costume designs, children’s workshops, and accessible information about Long Covid.
