Mundane Days Along the River
This is an on-going project documents the views along the canal waterway by using mono printmaking with an outcome of a handcrafted zine. I am producing a series of monoprints to respond to and archive those the days along the canal waterway, especiallly the life of people on the boat, as well as the changing natural environment surounded.
Those people choose to live on the boat for different reasons, some of them are travellers, migrants, short time visitors, or locals but want to change a way of living. But for whatever reasons, the life on canal system is hard and unstable, they have to constantly prepare for leaving. I re-organize those prints into an handcrafted zine, which printed on transclucent papers. These images are superimposed, layer after layer. It invites the audience to read and feel uncertain, floating, and changing mundane of life through layered black and white images.
